1. The 32nd Annual Women in Aviation International (WAI) Conference
will be held virtually from 11-12 March 2021. The conference is
hosted by Women in Aviation International, a nonprofit organization
dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all
aviation career fields and interests.
2. The purpose of this annual conference is to foster education,
career development, as well as provide networking and mentoring
opportunities to members of the aviation community. Attendance is
open to all active duty serving in or seeking a career in aviation.
The cost of the WAI Conference is $49. COMDT (CG-711) will pay for
the first 350 attendees to request attendance using the method in
paragraph 3. All registrations after the first 350 will be paid
for with unit funds.
3. IAW REFs (A), if the event is an online/virtual conference and
the registration fee is under $2,500 per person, irrespective of
the number of attendees, then a conference package is not required,
and there is no limit on attendance. The Office of Aviation Forces,
COMDT (CG-711) is responsible to provide a final count of all USCG
participants. Registered members please email your command approved
TDY Travel Request Work Sheet (CG-2070) to: HQS-SMB-WAI@uscg.mil
Subject: WAI ATTENDEE, and provide the following:
    a. Full Name
    b. Rank
    c. Job Title
    d. Unit/Office/Division
    e. Current PDS Location
    f. Previous Attendee (Y/N)
    g. Whether you will attend the CG Program
4. Conference attendance information: Previous attendees should
register at: https://reg.wai.org/register_now.cfm, and new attendees
should register at: https://reg.wai.org/register_now.cfm?email=new
@wai.org. On the second page, where it asks for an optional
corporate code, enter: USMIL2021 in order to pay the $49 military
rate.
5. The Office of Aviation Forces (CG-711) will host a Coast Guard
centric Women in Aviation program prior to the conference. On 09
March the CG program will be in the afternoon only, and will focus
on professional development. On 10 March, the program will be held
all day and will focus on personal development and leadership.
There is no cost to attend the CG program.
6. Those interested in attending only the CG program should email
HQS-SMB-WAI@uscg.mil Subject: CG PROGRAM ATTENDEE no later than 03
March 2021. Members can join one or both days, however, due to the
sensitive nature of some of the topics, only registered attendees
may attend the 10 March sessions. The 09 March sessions may be
streamed publicly at the unit.
