SUBJ:  2021 FEDERAL ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN COUNCIL UNIFORMED
SERVICES AWARDS
1. This ALCOAST solicits submissions for the 2021 Federal
Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) Uniformed Services
Awards. Any active duty or reserve member of the Uniformed
Services is eligible for consideration. The performance
period is Fiscal Year 2020 (October 1, 2019 - September 30,
2020) or Calendar Year 2020 (January 1 - December 31, 2020).
2. All nominations will be evaluated according to the
following criteria:
    a. Fostered an innovative and harmonious environment
between the military and Asian American and Pacific Islander
(AAPI) communities.
    b. Distinguished themselves by promoting the tenets of
the U.S. Constitution, civil/human rights, equal opportunity,
human relations, and/or public service.
    c. Displayed exceptional character that distinguished them
as an outstanding leader, role model or mentor by promoting
the development or advancement of members of the Uniformed
Services.
    d. Assisted in overcoming discrimination and eliminating
barriers that hinder equal opportunity for all members of
the Uniformed Services, including the civilian workforce.
    e. Contributed to equal opportunity for selection, promotion
or retention of women and minorities in senior positions and
under-represented occupations.
    f. Created opportunities that supported and contributed to
the mentorship, development, advancement, or retention of all
personnel, including women and minorities, in government service
consistent with merit-based principles. Created job or training
opportunities that will support and contribute to advancement
of all members in the Civilian and Uniformed Services.
3. Nomination packages must include the following:
    a. Narrative describing the accomplishments warranting
recognition, not to exceed two pages.
    b. One-page biography of the nominee.
    c. Citation including major accomplishments of the nominee
(not to exceed 12 lines).
    d. Digital color or black and white head shot photo (jpg,
png, tiff file).
    e. Command cover memo, with signature, forwarding the package.
    f. Nomination Form available from the Point of Contact listed
in Paragraph 5.
    g. Items a and b must be in 12-point font, single-spaced with
one-inch left and right margins in Word, PDF or Text format.
4. COMDT (CG-00H) will send all nominations to FAPAC. A panel of
judges at FAPAC will make the final selections and notify
individuals and nominating offices. An ALCOAST will announce the
winners.
5. Nomination packages must be forwarded as email attachments to
Mr. Juan Torres, juan.l.torres@uscg.mil, no later than 3 March 2021.
