Security:  Be prepared to show government-issued photo identification, such as a driver's license, and media credentials at the security checkpoint. All media will be required to have face masks.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Coast Guard and Hillsborough County Sheriff are scheduled to hold a media availability Monday, to discuss the enforcement of marine safety zones and illegal charters in connection with Super Bowl LV related events in Tampa at the Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit on Davis Island.

Available for interview will be:

Cmdr. Commander Moore, Chief of Response Operations, Sector St. Petersburg

Mr. Brian Knapp, Senior Investigating Officer, Sector St. Petersburg

Sheriff Chad Chronister, Hillsborough County Sheriff

 

Coast Guard and local law enforcement marine units will enforce the safety zone beginning Friday, January 29 through Sunday, February 7, 2021. The zone will include certain waters of Garrison Channel, Seddon Channel Turning Basin, and the Hillsborough River in the vicinity of downtown Tampa.

All persons and vessels will be required to transit the safety zone at a steady speed and may not slow down, stop, or anchor except in the case of unforeseen mechanical failure or other emergency. Any person or vessel forced to slow or stop in the zone shall immediately notify the Coast Guard via VHF channel 16.
