SUBJ: REVISION TO THE U.S. COAST GUARD INTEGRATED
LOGISTICS SUPPORT (ILS) MANUAL
A. U.S. Coast Guard Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manual,
COMDTINST M4105.14
1. Purpose: This ACN announces the update to clarify guidance
that all Coast Guard assets require a logistics life cycle support
strategy and must undergo a logistics assessment.
2. Background. Provide clarification that all cg assets require
a life cycle support strategy and logistics assessments.
3. The Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manual defines the
practice of ils throughout the Coast Guard (CG). All CG assets,
whether acquired through procurement, acquisition or any other
method, must develop a logistics life cycle support strategy and
must undergo logistics assessments. The ILSP identifies and
communicates the logistics life cycle support strategy for an
asset. This requirement shall apply to all funding type (e.g.,
AC&I, O&S or OE/O&M) that are used to acquire cg assets.
4. Each Coast Guard asset (cutters, boats, aircraft, information
technology systems, communication systems, electronic systems,
aids to navigation, shore facilities, equipment, and components)
shall maintain an ilsp until disposal.
5. Endorsement and approval of ILSP updates must be coordinated
through the applicable stakeholders, technical authorities,
sponsor’s representative and deputy commandants for mission support
for dhs approval prior to implementation.
6. These changes are effective immediately and will be incorporated
into the next revision of REF (A), which will be released within
the next year.
7. This message will be cancelled on 19 JAN 2022.
8. POC: Debra A. Simms at 202-475-5676 and Debra.A.Simms@uscg.mil.
9. Released by RADM Nathan A. Moore, Assistant Commandant for
Engineering and Logistics (CG-4).
10. Internet release is authorized.
