SUBJ: EXTENSION OF LIMITED AVAILABILITY TO DIRECT ACCESS
A. COMDT COGARD WASHINGTON DC 011228 DEC 20/ALCOAST 436/20
1. This ALCOAST announces extension of the scheduled limited
availability to Direct Access outlined in REF (A). This extension
is required to support 2021 pay rate and other regulatory changes
for the Coast Guard's Human Capital Management system, Direct Access.
2. As Per REF (A), Direct Access was originally scheduled to be
reactivated at 2359 EST Thursday, 31 December 2020. With this
extension, Direct Access will now be reactivated at 2359 EST,
Tuesday, 05 January 2021.
3. This limited availability to Direct Access will continue to
impact all Active Duty, Reservists, Retirees, Annuitants, and
civilian supervisors of military members. During this timeframe,
access to self-service in Direct Access for all users will be
unavailable. This means no login access, including no ability
to submit absence requests, no processing of pay or separation
transactions and no processing of orders to include Reserve IDT,
ADT, etc.
4. This extension may impact pay increases as a result of advancements
and promotions scheduled for January. Any delay in the processing
of these transactions will result in members receiving their
authorized pay and allowances during the January end of month
pay day.
5. We regret this additional inconvenience during an already
challenging time. We are working diligently to address current
workforce challenges and complete the Direct Access updates as
quickly as possible. If access to the system is essential during
this extended period, please contact the Direct Access Project
Management Office at HQS-DG-lst-DA-PMO. A member of the team
can assist in providing access in emergent situations.
6. All other questions and concerns should be forward to
LT Chase Mercer, Chase.A.Mercer@uscg.mil.
7. Dr. D. M. Navarro, Acting Assistant Commandant for Human
Resources, sends.
8. Internet release is authorized.
