B. VCG Decision Memo - Branding Policy Update, 22 SEP 2020
1. This ACN announces updates to REF (A) regarding limitations on brands for new
accessions as directed by REF (B).
2. Paragraph 12.b. of REF (A) is replaced with the following: Applicants to the Coast
Guard may have multiple brands, subject to the location and content restrictions
in Paragraphs 10 and 11 of this Instruction. Any applicant admitted to the Coast Guard
with more than one brand must have all brands documented by an Administrative Remarks
entry, Form CG-3307.
3. Paragraph 12.c. of REF (A) is added as follows: Current members with no brands may
receive no more than one brand, not to exceed 4" x 4", subject to location and content
restrictions listed in Paragraphs 10 and 11 of this Instruction. Current members
with any brands must not receive additional brands while in the Coast Guard.
4. All other requirements and prohibitions contained in REF (A) remain unchanged by
this ACN.
5. These changes will be included in the next revision of REF (A), which will be
released within the next year.
