SUBJ:  245TH BIRTHDAY OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY
1. Happy Birthday and congratulations to the United States Navy on
245 years of steadfast service to our Nation.
2. Since October 13, 1775, the United States Navy has protected and
advanced our Nation's maritime interests across the globe. In addition to
being the world's premier multi-domain naval warfighting force, the Navy
combats international piracy, drug trafficking and terrorism, as well as
delivers humanitarian aid around the world in times of crisis. Moreover,
the Navy continues to be at the forefront of our national defense in both
war and peace, with an esteemed record of success on,
above, and below the sea.
3. The Navy and Coast Guard share a strong seafaring heritage as leaders
in maritime security and safety worldwide. As we continue to face evolving
challenges around the world, we will continue to work in unison to respond
to and defend against all threats to our national security. A testament to
our staunch support to commonality and interoperability, we proudly serve
together on the National Fleet Board, and the Coast Guard is extremely
grateful for the enduring bond we share with our distinguished seagoing
partner.
4. It is a distinct honor and privilege to work alongside the women and men
of the United States Navy to protect and preserve our freedoms, and to serve
our fellow citizens. On behalf of all Active, Reserve, Civilian and Auxiliary
women and men of the United States Coast Guard - Happy Birthday Navy.
Semper Paratus.
5. Admiral Karl L. Schultz, Commandant, sends.
