Coast Guard to hold 9/11 remembrance ceremony
NEW YORK — The Coast Guard is scheduled to hold a 9/11 remembrance ceremony Friday, in Staten Island, to commemorate and honor the sacrifices of responders and victims of the attacks on September 11, 2001.
Coast Guard Sector New York personnel and personnel from surrounding units will be in attendance. The ceremony will honor the fallen and recognize the role of the Coast Guard during the maritime evacuation of Lower Manhattan.
Who: Rear Adm. Steven Poulin, Coast Guard Atlantic Area commander, and Capt. Jason Tama, Coast Guard Sector New York commander
