ALCGOFF 074/20, ASSIGNMENT YEAR 2021 OFFICER ASSIGNMENTS KICK OFF- TIMELINES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND OUTREACH 1. AY21 offers many assignment opportunities for officers seeking selection to Special Staff and Liaison positions. 2. The shopping list of O-6 and below AY21 Special Staff Assignments requiring early e-resume submission is now available as a sortable spreadsheet on the OPM-2 Portal Site at http://cglink.uscg.mil/cb33598e. Any member not able to access the list should contact LCDR Jared Silverman (contact info below) to have the file emailed to them. The positions listed require early identification of candidates to accomplish necessary background investigations and interviews. The selection process for many of these assignments requires coordination with other government departments, agencies, and staffs at highest level of government. Though some assignments may have prerequisite primary career paths, all require candidates with outstanding records of performance, exemplary military bearing, sharp appearance, and superb communication skills. Attaché and CGLO billets may also require a lengthy language training period. 3. Any Special Assignment not meeting the requirements above will be advertised via the shopping list released in August. 4. Posting of a job does not guarantee the incumbent will be transferred in AY21. 5. Interested candidates need to submit an e-resume by 17 Jul 2020 via Direct Access. For any candidates that are not tour complete in AY21, their e-resume must include a Command Endorsement that specifically includes an endorsement for that officer to short tour and any backfill requirements. Candidates that are unable to access Direct Access may request consideration via e-mail, message, or by phone to the appropriate detailer listed below. 6. E-resume procedures: AY21 assignments will be opened and shopped using the PCS eResumes section of Direct Access (DA). All candidates must apply in DA, as outlined in Ref A, using the e-resume link, found by following Main Menu > CG AD Self Service: Employee > Tasks > PCS eResumes. Once there, enter your desired Position Number in the search criteria. A “PCS eResume” user guide with step-by-step guidance can be found at https://cg.portal.uscg.mil/units/ppc/RoboHelp/DAGP/index.aspx#t=Whats_New.asp x under the “PCS Transfer” tab on the left side of the page. 7.
