1.  It is with great sadness that I announce the death of Rear Admiral John L. Linnon, USCG (retired), who passed away on Monday, 15 June 2020 in East Falmouth,
Massachusetts, at the age of 84.
2.  RADM Linnon was born on 18 June 1935 in Hartford, Connecticut. He enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1955 and was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 1961. During his career of more than 40 years, he served aboard seven ships, commanding three. His flag assignments included Director, Joint Interagency Task Force – West and Commander, First Coast Guard District, from which he retired to East Falmouth in 1997.
3.  RADM Linnon is survived by his former wife, Beth; his brother Michael; his children Richard, Susan and Peggy; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
4.  RADM Linnon will be laid to rest at Massachusetts National Cemetery. Funeral
