Elizabeth River - Boat Parade

A boat parade of mostly recreational vessels will be held in the Elizabeth River, VA between Craney Island Flats near Lighted Buoy 12 and Waterside, Downtown Norfolk on Saturday, June 6, 2020 between 1:30 P.M. and 2:30 P.M.  This boat parade will include anywhere from 300 to 1,000 participating recreational and small charter vessels of varying sizes and will also include the passenger vessel CARRIE B.  Event organizers can be reached on VHF-FM Channels 16 and 72.

In addition, prior to the event, boats will be congregating in other area waterways (such as the James River, Lynnhaven Bay, Rudee Inlet, and York River) and will proceed to the Elizabeth River event in groups.

Vessels under 65 feet and sailing vessels are reminded not to impede larger vessel traffic that can safely navigate only within a narrow channel or fairway. Mariners are requested to use caution when transiting in the vicinity of the parade area and wherever participating boats congregate.  Updated information will be relayed by broadcast notice to mariners. On-scene official patrols will be present.
