SUBJ: RESOLICITATION FOR DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION EDUCATION AND AWARENESS PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS
A. COMDT COGARD WASHINGTON DC 081432 APR 20/ALCOAST 129/20
1. This ALCOAST extends the application deadline for the Diversity and Inclusion Education
and Awareness Program (DIEAP) described in REF (A). Due to restrictions caused by the
current pandemic, the June DIEAP cohort has been postponed, allowing additional
time for candidates to apply. The new application deadline is 29 May 2020.
2. The DIEAP program is a six month process outlined in REF (A) that will develop Change
Agents who will provide D&I training, coaching, and support to unit leaders and LDACs and,
most critically, coach Commanding Officers and Officers In Charge through difficult
workplace climate concerns. Program participants will also be equipped with knowledge
and skills to build common ground for meaningful dialogue about civility, equity,
diversity, inclusion and cross-cultural relationship building.
3. All civilian, active duty, and reserve members who meet the application requirements
in REF (A) are encouraged to apply.
4. Additional information:
    a. The program will continue to monitor the news and CDC guidance, and will update
selectees of any future changes to the training schedule.
    b. The June session has been postponed. The remaining schedule has been updated to
include the following dates: July 13-24, 2020 in Virginia (Location TBD);
September 14-25, 2020 CG Headquarters in Washington, DC; December 7-18, 2020 (Location TBD);
February 1-12, 2021 (Location TBD).
    c. New Application Deadline: 29 May 2020
    d. Selected members will be notified OOA 15 June 2020.
    e. Members who already submitted applications may elect to resubmit with new dates and/or
documents. Resubmittal is not required.
    f. Members who are executing a PCS transfer this summer, should include their new unit
in the "Thru" line of their application for review and signature prior to submission.
