SUBJ: CHANGE IN AUTHORITY TO PRIVILEGE COMDT (CG-11) AND TO ADJUDICATE
APPEALS OF ADVERSE PRIVILEGING ACTIONS IN THE COAST GUARD

1. REF (A) is updated as follows, effective immediately:
    a. IAW REF (B), REF (A) Chapter 13.C.4.a. is amended to vest the authority
to provide professional oversight of, and extend clinical privileges to, the
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Coast Guard in COMDT (CG-1).
    b. REF (A) Chapter 13.C.4.e. is amended to vest the authority to entertain
appeals to adverse privileging actions in the Coast Guard in COMDT (CG-1).
    c. The Coast Guard CMO remains the privileging authority for all other health
care providers in the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard CMO may further delegate
privileging authority in writing.
2. REF (A) will be updated to reflect these changes.
