SUBJ:  2020 FEDERALLY EMPLOYED WOMEN (FEW) MILITARY MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD
1. This ALCOAST solicits nominations for the 2020 Federally Employed Women (FEW)
Meritorious Service Award. The award recognizes outstanding military service
members within the Armed Forces who have distinguished themselves with significant
contributions to their Service and our Nation. The performance period is February
2019 to March 2020.
2. All CG service members are eligible for the FEW award. 
3. All nominations shall include a narrative describing the nominee's
accomplishments, not to exceed two pages. Accomplishments should consist of one
or more of the following:
    a. The nominee promoted the tenets of civil/human rights, equal opportunity,
human relations, and/or public service.
    b. The nominee contributed to the equal opportunity for selection, promotion
or retention of women and minorities in senior grade level positions and under-
represented occupations.
    c. The nominee assisted in overcoming discrimination and eliminating barriers
that hinder equal opportunity for all members of the Armed Forces and civilians
including women and minorities in the Armed Forces.
    d. The nominee created job or training opportunities that will support and
contribute to advancement of all Service members including women and minorities
in the Armed Forces or civilian workforce.
4. The nomination packages shall also include the following:
    a. Biography of the nominee, not to exceed one page.
    b. Citation statement summarizing the nominee's accomplishments, single-space,
not to exceed 18 lines of narrative, Arial, 12-point font.
    c. Command cover memo, with signature, forwarding the package.
    d. Award Nomination Transmittal Form. For a copy of this form, please contact
the Point of Contact (POC) below.
5. The narrative and biography must be in MS Word with 12-point font, single-
spaced with one-inch left and right margins. Please do not include any Personally
Identifiable Information (PII) beyond that which is required for the nomination
package.
6. Nomination packages must be forwarded as email attachments to the POC,
Mr. Juan Torres, Juan.L.Torres@uscg.mil, no later than May 1, 2020. For

7. COMDT (CG-00H) will send all nominations to FEW for consideration and
final selection. The award recipients' commands will be notified by
phone. An ALCOAST will announce the winner(s).
