1. This message extends the deadline, alters the application requirements, and
raises assignment priority offering for members interested in assignment to Ceremonial
Honor Guard in AY20. This is an outstanding opportunity for high performing members to
step out of Rate for a career broadening tour and be involved in several hi-visibility
events over the next two years offering invaluable experience in leadership, planning,
networking, and Joint Service ceremonial activities.
2. The deadline for applications has been extended to March 19, 2020 and is
open to all E5 and E6 (not above the cut for E7) who are tour complete in
AY 20/21/22. Members in receipt of AY20 PCS orders are eligible to apply.
3. Application: Due to the increased workload in support of COVID-19 efforts across
the Service, EPM-2 is waiving members memorandum requirements. Interested members shall
submit Commanding Officers endorsement and pictures, as outlined in the standard
application located at Ref (B) to HQS-SMB-PSC-EPM-2-SpecialAssignments@uscg.mil.
4. Commands are requested to disseminate this message and encourage their members to
apply for this amazing opportunity. EPM-2 will make every effort to
backfill selected members during normal AY20 timelines.
5. Members selected will receive assignment priority 2 upon successful tour completion.
6. All other provisions of Reference (D) and (E) remain the same.
