1. Event. The Military Operations Research Society (MORS) and the U.S. Coast Guard
Academy (USCGA) are co-hosting the 2020 MORS Symposium at the USCGA located in
New London, CT from 15-18 June 2020. This year's theme is Multi-Discipline Analysis
in National Security. More information can be found here:

2. Purpose. The 88th MORS Symposium will include hundreds of presentations across
33 Working Groups and numerous Distributed Working Groups, Special Sessions,
Demonstrations, Tutorials, and Continuing Education Unit Courses over the four-day
program. Over the last four years, members from the Coast Guard Operations Research
and Data Analytics community have been invited to present nearly 29 papers on topics
including Boat Station mission relevance, Panama Canal transit cost modeling,
Surfman program resilience, special event risk modeling, unstructured data analytics,
and using machine learning to predict barge inspection deficiencies. This year's
sessions will consist of classified and unclassified presentations.
3. Conference Attendance Information.
    a. The USCGA has an approved Conference Hosting Request Form IAW REF (A) and
requires the pertinent information listed in Paragraph 4 from attending members.
    b. Attendance, travel, and conference fees will be at unit discretion and expense.
If funding is not available, permissive orders are authorized IAW CH 2.a.10. of
REF (B). Attendees are responsible for making their own registration, travel, and
lodging accommodations. Civilian employees wishing to participate in this event may
use annual leave, accrued compensatory time off or earned credit hours (if available),
or leave without pay.
    c. Registration Fees: MORS has offered no-cost registration for up to 35 Coast
Guard military and civilian personnel outside of USCGA. USCGA will coordinate with
COMDT (CG-771) to develop a prioritized list of fee waivers for attendees. If not
selected for a fee waiver, early registration conference fee is $360 for MORS members
and $460 for non-members. Regular registration fee is $560 and $660 respectively.
    d. Key Dates.
       (1) 1 November 2019 - Call for Abstracts and Registration Opens.
       (2) 30 January 2020 - Deadline for TDY Worksheet Submission.
       (3) 2 March 2020 - Deadline for Abstract Submission.
       (4) 3 April 2020 - Early Registration ends.
       (5) 15 April 2020 - Selected presenters notified.
       (6) 15 May 2020 - Regular Registration ends.
4. Member’s responsibility. In order to attend the conference, member is responsible
for providing the following requirements to the POC in Paragraph 6:
    a. Submit approved TDY Travel Request Worksheet, Form (CG-2070) via email NLT
30 January 2020.
    b. Provide immediate email notification if cancelling attendance.
    c. After attending event, submit the Travel Voucher Summary (from TPAX) via email.
