1. This ACN announces the cancellation of REF (A) and the promulgation of REF (B).
2. This Manual provides updates to the policies, procedures and standards for the
administration of the Aids to Navigation (ATON) Structure Climber (ASC) training
program. Included is a new ASC Advanced Safety Observer competency, changes to the
prerequisites to attend the NATON ASC Course (501850), new minimum ASC equipment
certification requirements, clarification of the duties of the unit ASC competent
person, and expansion of first aid currency maintenance to include all levels of ASC.
3. No paper distribution will be made of this Manual. This Manual is available
