Coast Guard assists three boaters near Cape May Inlet, New Jersey

CAPE MAY, N.J. — The Coast Guard assisted three boaters near Cape May Inlet, New Jersey, Tuesday night.

Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay watchstanders received notification from Station Cape May watchstanders that three boaters were in need of assistance after their boat reportedly allided with the jetties near the shoreline. 

A Coast Guard Station Cape May 29-foot Response Boat—Small boatcrew, already training in the area, arrived on scene and towed the disabled vessel to shore due to its inability to safely stay afloat.

All three boaters were met ashore by awaiting emergency medical services personnel.

New Jersey State Police members are investigating the cause of the incident.
