SUBJ:  EXCEPTION TO POLICY REGARDING OPERATIONAL VACCINATIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL PORT
SECURITY PERSONNEL (IPS)
A. Coast Guard Anthrax Vaccine Immunization Program (AVIP), COMDTINST 6230.3D
B. Coast Guard Smallpox Vaccine Program (SVP), COMDTINST 6230.10B
1. This ACN announces an exception to policy in REF (A) and REF (B).
2. Due to IPS personnel already required to comply with applicable DOD Combatant Command (CCMD)
theater entry and/or U.S. State Department Country Clearance procedures, IPS personnel will
only need anthrax and/or smallpox vaccination if required by the DOD Combatant Command (CCMD)
to which they are assigned/deployed or if required by the U.S. State Department.
3. There will be no hardcopy distribution of this change. An electronic version
is located on the CGPortal at: https://cgportal.uscg.mil/library/directives/SitePages/Home.aspx
and on the Internet at: http://www.dcms.uscg.mil/directives/.
4. REFs (A) and (B) will be updated to reflect these changes, which will be released in the
next year.
