CG Band holds 33rd annual School Concert Series

The Coast Guard Band is currently holding its 33rd annual School Concert Series in Leamy Hall Auditorium.  The theme this year is "Road Trip America." The performances will take students on a musical journey across the United States, visiting places such as New York City, the Sonoran Desert, St. Louis and the Shenandoah Valley.  More than 6,000 students from across the state (with one group from New York) are expected to attend this year's event.  Over the past 30-plus years more than 200,000 students have attended the School Concert Series, which has become a tradition experienced by generations of Connecticut school children.  
 
Assistant Conductor, Chief Warrant Officer Jeffrey Spenner will be available for interviews, and the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Middle School will be attending Tuesday Oct. 29 from 10-11 a.m.
