Coast Guard medevacs mariner 20 miles offshore Port Aransas, Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard medevaced a crewmember from the sailing vessel Impatience approximately 20 miles offshore of Port Aransas, Texas, Friday.
Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a call from a member onboard the Impatience requesting a medevac for a 34-year-old male crewmember who was dehydrated and experiencing symptoms of extreme sea sickness. Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac.
A Coast Guard Air Station Corpus Christi MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was launched to the vessel, hoisted the patient and transferred him to the Corpus Christi Medical Center - Bay Area where he was received and reported to be in stable condition.
