SUBJ:  2020 COAST GUARD SPORTS PARTICIPATION GRANT PROGRAM

1. The Coast Guard has always recognized athletic competition as an important part of health and physical fitness.  In addition, athletic competition teaches teamwork, sacrifice and develops a will to win, dedication and esprit de corps. It is the Coast Guard policy to encourage and support all athletes, and this program provides financial support to help defray the personal cost of participating in sporting events.
2. Active duty members desiring funding assistance for sports competitions during NAF Year 2020 may submit a request to CSC for consideration.
3. Submissions for sports participation grants for NAF Year 2020 (1 February 2020 through 31 January 2021) may be submitted throughout the entire year until funding is exhausted.
4. Each active duty member is authorized one local grant and one state, national, or international grant.
5. Enclosure 11 of Ref A details the required information necessary for each specific grant request.
