Coast Guard searches for person in the water in Powderhorn Lake near Port O'Connor, Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coast Guard is searching for a 19-year-old male who was last seen entering the water in Powderhorn Lake near Port O’Connor, Texas, and not resurfacing Monday evening.

Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders were notified that a friend reported the 19-year-old fisherman was wade fishing and last seen going underwater. Watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched Air Station Corpus Christi HC-144 Ocean Sentry and MH-65 Dolphin aircrews, and a Station Port O’Connor shallow-water boat crew to conduct the search.
