SUBJ:  ANNUAL COAST GUARD PARTNERSHIP IN EDUCATION PROGRAM (CG PIE) REGISTRATION
A. U.S. Coast Guard Civil Rights Manual, COMDTINST M5350.4 (series)
1. For nearly thirty years, the CG PIE program has endeavored to enhance the
educational opportunities and awareness of the Service's missions and career
options for students in communities nationwide. Since 1991, Coast Guard
members have established strong, sustainable partnerships with schools and
community-based organizations to support education initiatives, especially in
communities with underserved populations.
2. Each year, Coast Guard units and commands are encouraged to register their
respective units and school/community partners on the CGPortal PIE web site at:
https://cg.portal.uscg.mil/units/CG00.HQ/00H/2/CG-PIE/default.aspx.
All Coast Guard unit commanders who have not yet established a PIE program are
urged to do so and register it on the PIE site as soon as the partnership is formed.
Units with already established programs, as well as units with new programs, must
register on the PIE site.
3. The Coast Guard is proud of its service in communities and commends all
participating units and commands for implementing and maintaining partnerships
with schools. These outreach activities promote student lifelong learning,
personal initiative, civic responsibility, and individual self-worth.
