NVDC Processing Delays

united states coast guard

The United States Coast Guard’s (USCG) National Vessel Documentation Center (NVDC) is currently experiencing processing delays related to Certificate of Documentation (COD), Abstracts of Title (A/T), and other documentation requests due to performance issues associated with its Information Technology (IT) System.

NVDC staff are fully aware of the importance of timely documentation issuance on commerce and they strive to provide the best possible customer service to all of the 300,000+ customers they serve annually and the USCG has formed an internal Integrated Product Team (IPT) to take corrective action addressing IT System performance issues, which will facilitate NVDC’s ability to provide improved response time to service requests from the maritime industry.

In order to ensure NVDC can process the maximum number of applications possible, we ask that you submit any questions via electronic mail to nvdc.w.webmaster@uscg.mil while the system is operating at reduced capacity. Responses can be expected within 24-48 hours. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Information regarding expiring Certificates of Documentation (CODs) can be found in the Marine Safety Information Bulletin (MSIB) 03-19 released 11MAR19: https://www.dco.uscg.mil/Portals/9/DCO%20Documents/5p/MSIB/2019/MSIB_003_19.pdf
