Coast Guard Station Miami Beach welcomes new commanding officer

MIAMI — Lt. Brandon Earhart relieved Lt. Raymond Heberlig Friday as commanding officer of Coast Guard Station Miami Beach during a change of command ceremony. 

Capt. Jo-Ann Burdian, commander Coast Guard Sector Miami, presided over the ceremony. 

The change-of-command ceremony is a time-honored tradition and represents a total transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability from one individual to another. The ceremony ensures the continuity of leadership and operations within the station's area of responsibility.
