Coast Guard continues to search for missing fisherman 300 miles east of Cape Canaveral
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Coast Guard is continuing to search Tuesday for a missing fisherman 300 miles east of Cape Canaveral.
Missing is Russell Minor.
Coast Guard crews have searched approximately 4,600 square miles.
On Sunday, Coast Guard 7th District Command Center watchstanders received a report from the Day Boat Too, a 46-foot fishing vessel, stating Minor went overboard. A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater HC-130 Hercules aircraft crew launched and commenced searching after dropping a self-locating datum marker buoy when they arrived on scene.
Assets involved in the search are:
- Air Station Clearwater aircrews
- Air Station Elizabeth City aircrews
- Air Station Miami aircrews
- Cutter Dependable crew
- Cutter William Flores crew
