Coast Guard, partner agencies to hold free, public safety event on Oak Island, NC

WHAT: Will hold a safety event to introduce the public to many of the different services offered by first responders
WHEN: Saturday, June 1, 2019, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHERE: Coast Guard Station Oak Island, 300 Caswell Beach Road, Oak Island, NC 28465
OAK ISLAND, N.C. — Coast Guard Station Oak Island members are hosting a free, public safety event at the station, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will be open for media coverage and Coast Guard members will be available for interviews concerning boating safety.
Representatives from a variety of state and local agencies will be present to interact with the public and display safety equipment used during emergency response.
This event has been held for the past 13 years and has seen increasing participation. There will be a 100 percent ID check to gain entrance to the event and all vehicles and property are subject to search.
