WILMINGTON, N.C. — Coast Guard Sector North Carolina command cadre members are available for media interviews pertaining to National Safe Boating Week, May 23 and May 24.
Capt. Bion Stewart, commander of Sector North Carolina, is available May 23 at 9 a.m. at the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Diligence pier.
Cmdr. Matt Moorlag, deputy commander of Sector North Carolina, is available May 24 at 10 a.m. at the Sector office on Medical Center Drive.
Both command cadre members will discuss the importance of life jackets, local boating hazards, essential and recommended boating equipment, and other aspects of boating safety.
National Safe Boating Week is a campaign during which the National Safe Boating Council, U.S. Coast Guard, and other federal, state and local agencies promote safe boating practices prior to Memorial Day Weekend.
