Coast Guard to open seasonal Stations Scituate, Block Island, Fishers Island Memorial Day weekend

 

BOSTON — The Coast Guard is scheduled to open Stations Scituate, Block Island, and Fishers Island Friday and will remain open through Labor Day.

 

The stations’ crews will conduct search and rescue, maritime law enforcement, and recreational boating safety missions.

 

Each station is equipped with response boats and crews able to respond to maritime emergencies.

 

Chief Warrant Officer Terrill Malvesti, commanding officer of Coast Guard Station Point Allerton in Hull, Massachusetts, is the commanding officer of Station Scituate.

 

Master Chief Petty Officer Steven Beasley, commanding officer of Coast Guard Station Point Judith in Point Judith, Rhode Island, is the commanding officer of Station Block Island.

 

Lt. Nina McDonald, commanding officer of Coast Guard Station New London, Connecticut, is the commanding officer of Station Fishers Island.
