MEDIA ADVISORY: CGA Commencement 2019 security requirements for media

 

New London, Conn. -- Media representatives must notify the Academy Public Affairs Office at cga-public-affairs@uscga.edu before 4 p.m. Monday, May 20 if they intend to bring a satellite or microwave truck to the event.

On commencement day all media are instructed to park at the National Guard Armory on Bayonet Street and should arrive at the Academy prior to 10:30 a.m. Shuttle service begins at 8:00 a.m. The last shuttle departs the Academy at 3 p.m. and the lot will be secured by 4 p.m.

Inclement weather plans call for the ceremony to be held in Leamy Hall Auditorium, where seating will be limited. Additional pooling arrangements may be established in the event of inclement weather. Any changes will be announced as soon as possible.

In the event that any additional ground rules regarding pre-staging equipment or news camera pooling arrangements are established they will be issued in a forthcoming media advisory.
