Massachusetts Coast Guard units to hold Open Houses

BOSTON — The public and media are invited to attend free open houses hosted at Coast Guard stations in Massachusetts to kick off National Safe Boating Week, May 18-24, and the summer boating season.

Coast Guard Station Gloucester

What: Safe Boating Day Open House 

 

Who: Coast Guard and local partner agencies

 

Where: 17 Harbor Loop, Gloucester, MA, 01930.

 

When: May 18, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

The station is scheduled to host tours, a search and rescue demonstration, a K-9 demonstration, and events from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and other partners.

 

Coast Guard Station Menemsha

What: Safe Boating Day Open House 

 

Who: Coast Guard and local partner agencies

 

Where: Martha's Vineyard, 20 Edy's Island Way, Chilmark, MA 02535.

 

When: May 18, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

The open house will include tours of the station, boats and a helicopter. The helicopter tour is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
