UPDATE: Coast Guard suspends search for overdue boater between Cozumel and Tampa
TAMPA, Fla. — Coast Guard watchstanders received a report Friday of the overdue boater's vessel being located at the Westshore Yacht Club.
The dock master reported to Sector St. Petersburg the 38-foot sailing vessel, Nai'a, was adrift and crashing to the sea wall of the marina with one passenger aboard.
Aboard the sailing vessel was Grant Neie, the boater who was previously reported missing Sunday during transit from Cozumel, Mexico to Tampa. Neie reported experiencing several electronic issues including the loss of navigational tools on the vessel. Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg coordinated a site visit with local emergency services to provide medical assistance.
Neie was found to be in stable condition with no medical concerns.
