Coast Guard unit in Humboldt Bay to hold field training exercise
WHO: Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay personnel and interagency partners.
WHAT: Scheduled to hold an annual interagency mass rescue training.
WHEN: Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.
WHERE: Samoa Airport at 900 New Navy Base Rd., Samoa, CA 95564.

MCKINLEYVILLE, Calif. — A Coast Guard unit in Humboldt Bay is scheduled to host an annual mass rescue interagency training in the vicinity of Samoa Airport and Humboldt Bay channel Wednesday morning.
Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay's exercise is scheduled to consist of:
- Display of rescue equipment and personnel
- Helicopter land rescue training
- Refueling
- Helicopter water rescue
- Boat transfer training.
The 2019 Field Training Exercise has been developed to meet interagency developed objectives of interoperability, communication and enhanced understanding of local rescue agencies. The event will be completed over two days to simulate rescues in the water, on land and on a vertical surface.
