Coast Guard conducts Waterways Analysis and Management System

BALTIMORE Coast Guard Sector Maryland-National Capital Region is conducting a Waterways Analysis and Management System review of the Upper Potomac River, south of Washington, D.C., from April through June, to improve maritime efficiency in the area.
 
The review focuses on the area’s aids to navigation system, waterborne commerce, marine casualty information, port/harbor resources, emergency response plans, routine and emergency communication capabilities, and future development projects.
 
The analysis will cover the following stretch of the upper Potomac river from Haines Point Junction Lighted Buoy HP (LLNR 18705), which is near Washington, to the Governor Harry W. Nice Memorial/Senator Thomas "Mac" Middleton Bridge (Route 301).
