SUBJ:  OMBUDSMAN APPRECIATION DAY
1. On 26 March 2019, we celebrate Ombudsman Appreciation Day. It is a day set aside for
Coast Guard personnel and families to honor Coast Guard ombudsmen for the dedicated service
they provide to our mission-ready total workforce. Commands are encouraged to host appropriate
functions that express gratitude and appreciation for the service ombudsmen provide to Coast
Guard personnel and their families.
2. By volunteering on the home front, ombudsmen help to ensure that Coast Guard members
remain “Always Ready” to meet the needs of our great Nation by being available for families
and helping them obtain necessary resources and information to be successful. That assurance
provides our Coast Guardsmen confidence and helps them stay focused on the job.
3. To all Coast Guard ombudsmen, your devotion and commitment is respected. On behalf of the
entire Coast Guard family, Thank you and Happy Ombudsman Appreciation Day!
