1. This message solicits candidates and outlines the application
process to those enlisted members interested in Special Agent duty
during AY20.
2. Special Agent duty is extremely challenging and rewarding.
The missions of the Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS) include
criminal investigation, both internal (e.g. theft of GOVT
property, fraud, and violations of UCMJ) and external (e.g. alien/drug
smuggling, and crimes against CG members), as well as intelligence gathering,
protective service operations, and liaison with other federal law enforcement
agencies.
3. Eligibility requirements: All First Class Petty Officers (E6) and
Chief Petty Officers (E7 not above the cut for E8) who are
tour complete in AY20 or AY21, and meet the minimum qualifications
specified in Ref (A), 1.E.2 and 1.E.9, are highly encouraged to apply. 
4. Selection timeline:
A. 15 APR 2019: E-Panel submissions are due.
B. OOA 13 MAY 2019: Special Agent Screening Panel convenes.
C. OOA 28 MAY 2019: ALCGENL released announcing panel results.
D. OOA 19 AUG 2019: ALCGENL released announcing final selectees.

are at risk of not being considered for this opportunity.
