SUBJ:  2019 FEDERAL ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN COUNCIL CIVILIAN AWARDS
1. This ALCOAST solicits submissions for the 2019 Federal Asian
Pacific American Council (FAPAC) Outstanding Civilian Award.
The award recognizes individuals who have made significant
contributions to the advancement of Asian American and Pacific
Islanders (AAPIs) and to the promotion of diversity and inclusion
among the Federal Government work force and the AAPIs communities.
The performance period for award consideration is January 1, 2018
to December 31, 2018.
2. The FAPAC Civilian Award Categories are:
   a. Outstanding Individual Leadership: An individual who has shown
bold leadership and innovative ways in promoting Equal Employment
Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Employment, and Diversity and Inclusion.
   b. Excellence in Individual Achievement: An individual who has
shown the greatest contribution toward the AAPIs representation
at all levels as compared to the total AAPIs population.
   c. Diversity Excellence: An individual who has made remarkable
contributions to diversity and inclusion through collaborative effort.
3. The Awards' Evaluation criteria factors are below:
   a. Assist the Agency in recruiting, promoting, establishing,
and maintaining an effective and equitable participation of AAPIs
in the workforce.
   b. Promote recognition of AAPIs competencies, overall awareness
of the impact of AAPIs' cultures, contributions, work ethics,
and behavior related to government employment.
   c. Promote mentoring, initiate, lead, and encourage employees to
participate in program activities that will benefit the career
training, career development, and advancement of AAPIs in the
workforce. Establish and maintain channels of communication and
goodwill between AAPIs and other members of the workforce.
   d. Organize program activities that advocate equal opportunity
for AAPIs in the Federal government. Promote a better understanding
among AAPIs and non-AAPIs in the workplace and assist in resolving
problems of equality for the AAPIs, including equal employment
opportunities.
   e. Achieve personal goals in displaying exceptional leadership
qualities that will inspire others to follow. Advocate for civil
rights, diversity, and equal opportunity within their particular
department or agency.  
4. Nomination packages must include:
   a. Nomination form for the nominee and the nominating official
(contact POC for form).
   b. Letter of Nomination by the nominating official that does not
exceed two (2) pages (single-spaced, 12 font size). The letter
should highlight and specify the Nominee's achievements related to
the award category.
   c. The nominee's resume.
5. COMDT (CG-00H) will send all nominations to FAPAC. A panel of
judges at FAPAC will make the final selections and notify individuals
and nominating offices.
6. Nomination packages must be forwarded as email attachments
