1. Nominations are now being accepted for the following Reserve
Organization of America (ROA) sponsored awards for 2018:
    A. Admiral Russell R. Waesche Award.
    B. RADM Bennett "Bud" Sparks Award.
    C. Reserve Outstanding Junior Officer Award (ROJO).
    D. Reserve Outstanding Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) of the Year Award.
2. The Coast Guard recipient of the Reserve Outstanding Chief Warrant Officer (CWO)
of the Year Award is automatically named the Coast Guard nominee for the
CW4 Michael J. Novosel Award administered by the ROA.
3. Awards criteria and nominations guidelines can be found in Chapter 7 of REF (A).
4. Nomination packages must be submitted electronically to COMDT (CG-1313) by close of
business on 01 May 2019 to the POC listed below.
5. In accordance with REF (B), the Coast Guard Reserve Awards panel will deliberate and
submit its recommendations to COMDT (CG-13). Results will be announced in a future ALCOAST.
6. Awards will be presented at the 2019 ROA National Convention on 26-29 September 2019 in
Des Moines, Iowa.
7. COMDT (CG-131) may fund travel for command representatives and individuals to accept awards.
