U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Cape May personnel will honor former President George H.W. Bush, in accordance with Commandant Instruction 5000.3B, with the flag being flown at half-mast and a saluting battery of cannon fire from 0800 until sunset, Monday.

"On behalf of the military and civilian personnel and the recruits of U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Cape May, we send our heartfelt condolences to the Bush family," said Capt. Owen Gibbons, commanding officer of Coast Guard Training Center Cape May. "Recruits, here, are taught respect for the chain-of-command and for the offices and positions appointed over them. Today they will experience, first-hand, how our service honors the office of the President during our observance of former President Bush's passing."
