Update: Coast Guard suspends search for person in the water near Panama City Beach, Florida

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard suspended its search for a person in the water after an ultralight aircraft was downed near Panama City Beach, Florida, Thursday.

The Coast Guard suspended the search at 1:08 p.m. after searching 50 square nautical miles for approximately 6 hours. Personnel from Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and Bay County Sheriff’s Office were also involved in the search.
