Coast Guard, good Samaritans rescue 4 after plane crash in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Coast Guard and good Samaritans rescued four people Wednesday after their plane crashed in the water near Albert Whitted Airport in St. Petersburg.
Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received notification at 12:35 p.m. from a crew member aboard a 29-foot Response Boat-Small from Station St. Petersburg, reporting a single-engine plane had crashed into the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina.
The RB-S boatcrew arrived at 12:36 p.m. and witnessed good Samaritans assisting the four people who crashed. All four people embarked the RB-S and were transported to Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg where EMS was waiting.
No life-threatening injuries reported.
