SUBJ: PROHIBITION OF GENDER SPECIFIC PRONOUNS AND NAMES ON EVALUATION
REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENT OF ONE-PAGE LTJG OER
A. Officer Accessions, Evaluations and Promotions, COMDTINST M1000.3 (series)
B. Enlistments, Evaluations, and Advancements, COMDTINST M1000.2 (series)
1. Effective immediately, gender specific pronouns and member names are hereby
prohibited in the comment blocks of OERs and EERs. Alternative words such as
Reported On Officer (ROO), Reported On Member (ROM), Member (MBR) or Service
Member (SVM) may be used.
2. This ACN also announces the establishment of the one page Lieutenant (Junior Grade)
OER form. The new LTJG OER form will take effect starting in the 2019 June/July
LTJG OER cycle. CG PSC will provide further details via SEPCOR.
3. Policies and standards in REFs (A) and (B) not specifically addressed in this ACN
remain unchanged. REFs (A) and (B) will be updated to reflect the mentioned changes
and will be released within the next year.
