A 29-foot vessel was located at Skiff Point by the Bainbridge Island Police Department, which initiated a search for a possible person in the water on Nov. 8, 2018. Coast Guard searching, requesting info for possible person in the water near Bainbridge Island

SEATTLE — Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound watchstanders are seeking information regarding a possible missing boater, whose vessel was located aground at Skiff Point in Bainbridge Island, Wash., this morning.

At 8:57 a.m., a member of the Bainbridge Island Police Department contacted the Coast Guard sector after locating a 29-foot vessel at Skiff Point. 

A Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles aircrew, a boat crew from Station Seattle and crew aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Wahoo arrived on scene and are currently searching the area alongside local law enforcement agencies for a possible person in the water. 

Aboard the vessel was a wallet, a cell phone and nautical charts. A dinghy was also located close to the vessel. 

The wallet was reportedly identified as belonging to a Mr. Scott Caldwell, an Olympia native.
