SUBJ: COAST GUARD FOUNDATION ENLISTED RESERVE SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS FOR 2018-2019
1. The Coast Guard Foundation sponsored eight $1,000 scholarships for Academic
Year 2018 - 2019 to help offset the costs of higher education for enlisted Coast
Guard reservists or their dependents.
2. I am pleased to announce the following Coast Guard Foundation Enlisted Reserve
Scholarship winners for 2018-2019 (alphabetical order):
    a. MST2 Gregory Ayers, Sector St Petersburg, St Petersburg, FL. MST2 Ayers is
pursuing a Master of Science in Finance at the University of South Florida.
    b. DC1 Ramon Bernal, Port Security Unit 311, San Pedro, CA. DC1 Bernal is
pursuing a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia
Southern University.
    c. ME2 Natalie Crane, Port Security Unit 313, Everett, WA. ME2 Crane is
pursuing a Juris Doctor at Seattle University School of Law.
    d. ET2 John Iams, Port Security Unit 313, Everett, WA. ET2 Iams is pursuing
a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington.
    e. BM2 Carolyn Lipnick, Station Yaquina Bay, Newport, OR. BM2 Lipnick is
pursuing a Master of Science in Education at Western Oregon University.
    f. HSC Jonathan Molander, Sector Lake Michigan, Milwaukee, WI. HSC Molander
is pursuing a Master of Applied Science in Patient Safety and Healthcare Quality
at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
    g. ME3 Matthew Moorefield, Station Fort Pierce, Fort Pierce, FL. ME3
Moorefield is pursuing a Bachelors in Management Information Systems
at Florida Atlantic University.
    h. MSTC Natalie Rusk, Sector Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi, TX. MSTC Rusk is
pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy at Texas State University.
3. Congratulations to all scholarship recipients.
4. The quality of submissions this year was extremely high. Applicants not
selected for a scholarship are commended for their initiative and pursuit of
higher education. I encourage you to compete again next year and wish you every
success in completing your educational and career goals.
