USCG Training Center Cape May Hosts Board of Advisors

CAPE MAY, N.J. -- The Coast Guard Recruit Training Board of Advisors is holding their quarterly meeting, Thursday, at Coast Guard Training Center Cape May, to review and validate the vision, mission, strategic plan and purpose of recruit training.

The board is expected to provide input and support to several training center initiatives such as the on-going construction at James Hall and first aid and CPR certification for recruits.

“The topics discussed by our Board of Advisors have a direct and lasting impact on our mission success and readiness,” said Cmdr. Brian Krautler, the executive officer of Training Center Cape May. “The board members are our staunch advocates and lobby for us at the highest levels of command in our service to help ensure we can meet the Coast Guard's demands for men and women fit for the rigors of the service.”

The board consists of leaders throughout the Coast Guard including Rear Adm. Brian Penoyer, commander of Coast Guard Force Readiness Command, and Master Chief Jeffery Ryan, Command Master Chief  of Force Readiness Command.

The meeting is scheduled to end Friday.
