MEDIA ADVISORY: Coast Guard Academy to host 40th Anniversary Cuyahoga Memorial Service

NEW LONDON, Conn. — The Coast Guard Academy invites media to attend a memorial service for the fallen crewmembers of the Coast Guard Cutter Cuyahoga at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Cadet Memorial Chapel, Friday at 9:30 a.m.

Members of the Coast Guard Academy, Leadership Development Center, and Officer Candidate School will be holding the memorial service in honor of the 11 crewmembers who lost their lives 40 years ago.  

Dr. Peter Eident, an officer candidate aboard the Cuyahoga during the tragic incident, will be the keynote speaker at the service.
