MCKINLEYVILLE, Calif. — Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay is scheduled to hold an annual aviation survival training at Big Lagoon County Park, Thursday.

The training is scheduled to include shooting pyrotechnics, land survival skills and in-water training, including dry suit and life raft familiarization.

Media personnel will have the chance to participate in all land training, as well as don a dry suit and do a short survival swim to a life raft located in Big Lagoon.

This training is provided to Coast Guard members involved in aviation-related missions and is essential to the safety of our crews who operate in some of the most extreme and hazardous environments in the United States.
