1. EPM-2 is committed to providing more opportunities and support for
current and prospective women serving in the afloat community. This
message provides additional information to all enlisted women who
desire to compete for afloat assignments in AY19.
2. As described in Ref (B), EPM-2 will focus on filling afloat positions
early in the AY and intends on letting everyone who is tour complete in
AY19 compete for afloat assignments beginning in November.
3. EPM-2 encourages all tour-complete enlisted women desiring afloat
positions to engage directly with the Women Afloat Coordinator,
SKC Giovanny Maria to discuss afloat opportunities and berthing
availabilities. Additionally, the Woman Afloat Portal, Ref (E),
will be updated regularly and should be reviewed for information
affecting women afloat opportunities and assignments.
4. The AY19 shopping list is scheduled to be published on or
about 28 September 2018. Women who highly desire afloat assignment,
are considered
sea duty candidates, or need sea time to advance, should prioritize

competitiveness for each cutter assignment. Women should consider all
cutter types in crafting their e-resumes.

highlights and takeaways from past conferences. In an effort to better
answer both member and afloat community questions pertaining to women
afloat assignments in AY19, EPM-2 will again be hosting a phone conference
on 17 October at 1230 EST. In attendance will be Assignment Officers as
well as Senior Enlisted Women who have served in various afloat communities.
