TECHNIQUES, AND PROCEDURES (TTP), CGTTP 3-71.18
A. Aids to Navigation (ATON) Seamanship Tactics, Techniques, and
Procedures (TTP), CGTTP 3-71.18
1. REF (A) is promulgated and shall be reviewed by all aids to
navigation (ATON) commanding officers/officers in charge (CO/OIC),
Deck Watch Officers (DWO), coxswains, buoy deck supervisors, crane
operators, and other personnel involved in ATON operations.
2. This publication provides Coast Guard ATON personnel with guidance
for safely and efficiently conducting ATON operations while following
prudent seamanship practices and managing inherent risk. 
3. The official electronic version of REF (A) is maintained by Force
Readiness Command Training Division (FC-T) within the TTP library. The
TTP library can be accessed by navigating to CGPortal, selecting
‘Training & Education,' then selecting ‘Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures.'
4. Bravo Zulu to members of the Integrated Process Team (IPT) for their
time, professionalism, and diligence. IPT partners who supported this
effort include COMDTs (CG-7513), (CG-NAV-1), National Aids to Navigation
School at Training Center Yorktown, USCGC BUCKTHORN, and USCGC VISE.
